San Antonio-based online learning solutions provider Inspired eLearning is unveiling a new virtual reality (VR) training demonstration at the information technology security-focused RSA Conference in San Francisco this week.

The demo will take visitors through a variety of virtual security and compliance scenarios, based on Inspired eLearning’s security awareness content, to demonstrate the benefits of VR over traditional training.

“VR training better simulates actual memories for the learner, as if the virtual experience was their own and creates stronger emotional reactions than with traditional training, all of which increases retention of the information.”

John Trest, chief learning officer at Inspired eLearning

John Trest, chief learning officer at Inspired eLearning, said VR training is superior to traditional methods because it “better simulates actual memories for the learner, as if the virtual experience was their own and creates stronger emotional reactions than with traditional training, all of which increases retention of the information”.

“It’s also a great way to break up the standard e-learning course experience to help increase interest and motivate learners.”

“We’re incredibly excited to unveil this new age of security awareness technology to the audience at RSA,” added Kyle Metcalf, chief executive officer of Inspired eLearning. “I can’t say enough about the great work that our team is doing and their commitment to our mission of delivering best-in-class content, which includes finding new ways our customers can increase the effectiveness of training and retention.”
