Sports brand Puma has released its first augmented reality (AR) trainer.

The LQD Cell Origin AR trainer is covered in QR codes that can be scanned by a companion smartphone app available on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Scanning the QR codes that adorn the trainers will get their wearers filters and add effects to pictures and videos. The app also features LQDash, an AR running game.

Beyond AR, the LQD Cell Origin AR is Puma’s first in a line of shoes using LQD Cell technology, which the Germany-headquartered sports brand said offers superior cushioning to its classic Cell system.

The LQD CELL Origin AR is available at puma.com and selected retailers worldwide for approximately $145.

Other products featuring the LQD Cell technology will be available throughout the summer and will also appear in high-performance training shoes.
