A new augmented reality (AR) training tool for manufacturing enterprises from PTC promises to empower front-line workers with the knowledge they need to get their job done quickly and accurately.

Vuforia Expert Capture from PTC provides up-to-date, relevant information to workers in their daily environment using the Android handsfree RealWear HMT-1, the Microsoft HoloLens virtual reality (VR) headset and mobile devices.

Spatial intelligence from HoloLens’s location-aware functionality can also be used to safely guide front-line workers through multi-step procedures at different locations without compromising speed and accuracy.

Vuforia Expert Capture offers a secure, centrally-hosted environment to prepare and fine-tune procedures before delivery to headgear, a VR headset or a mobile device.

“We are excited to offer industrial enterprises a new way to use AR to leverage the tribal knowledge of SMEs and help alleviate the skills gap crisis threatening today’s industrial enterprise.”
