Software engineering college Holberton School is setting up augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) learning centres in San Francisco, Connecticut and Bogotá, Colombia.
Holberton has partnered with Unity Technologies and spatial computing expert Tom Emrich to launch the learning centres, where software engineers will be able to train immersive software development.
Students will learn how to use Unity for scripting, animation, UI design, the creation of shaders, game and application testing, as well as UX concepts specific to AR and VR, including accessibility, immersive storytelling, spatial audio and user comfort.
With these skills, students will be able to create interactive experiences of all kinds, not only for gaming, but also for use in sectors such as automotive and film, according to Holberton.
