Chinese tech company Vivo is aiming to grab a share of the immersive device market with a set of new augmented reality (AR) glasses built on 5G connectivity.

Previewed this week at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019, Vivo AR Glass will work with the company’s new 5G smartphone.

The AR glasses will support dual-screen display and 6DoF technology, with a view to working in tandem with the 5G smartphone.

Gamers will be able to play via their AR glasses with a smartphone as their console, while workers will be able to access mobile office applications and deploy their smartphones as keyboards.

The AR glasses will also be ideal for watching movies, and will boast facial and object recognition.
