Idaho-based technology company Silverdraft has appointed former Ford executive Elizabeth Baron as vice president of immersive solutions.

Baron, who spent 30 years at Ford working on visualisation and immersive technology, will strengthen Silverdraft’s hand in delivering hard- and software visualisation solutions in industrial design and engineering.

She has spent her career developing multiple immersive realities using virtual, augmented and mixed reality to provide information in context to the design studio, multiple engineering teams, user experience developers and computer-aided engineering analysts.

Baron has realised several industry firsts over the course of her career, including actionable haptics for immersive virtual-physical interaction and real-time ray-tracing in 4k, in immersive environments, as well as several extended reality applications to evaluate at-scale vehicle proposals.

Trailblazing spirit ‘perfect match’ for Silverdraft

Amy Gile, chief executive officer of Silverdraft, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and excited that Elizabeth has joined our team.”

“Her experience and technology trailblazing spirit is a perfect match for the Silverdraft team. As an extension of our customer’s engineering and technology teams, we provide the pathway to tackling workflow challenges and significantly lowering time to market.”
