Through the partnership, teams working in architecture, engineering and construction can collaborate in VR and AR inside one of Igloo Vision’s shared environments, on The Wild’s platform, which is also available on desktop, iOS and VR headsets.
“Igloo offers a compelling solution for a premium shared VR experience inside of their immersive rooms,” explained Gabe Paez, founder and chief executive officer of The Wild. “Now you can experience The Wild from Igloo, connecting that room to collaborators in VR, AR, PC, or Mac from anywhere.”
Jake Rowland, head of business development at Igloo Vision, continued: “One of the real strengths of Igloo Shared VR is that it’s an open, content-agnostic platform, enabling teams to work with the tools that are already part of their everyday workflows and discover new ones. We’re really excited to add The Wild to our ever-growing list of software integrations.”
“This integration with The Wild is particularly exciting because the potential for collaboration is heightened by being able to bring entire teams into models, where everyone can see what each other is looking at and can gauge reactions easily.”
The Wild, which has just launched its VR/AR collaboration platform, integrates with 3D design software applications Revit and SketchUp, and supports all major 3D file types.
Several architecture, engineering, construction, property and utilities clients, including Lanes Group, Cushman & Wakefield, Lendlease, and asBUILT Digital, have used or are using Igloo Vision’s solutions.
Companies using The Wild include adidas, Bora Architects, BNP Paribas, MacDonald Miller, and Arc’teryx.
Igloo Vision is moving ahead with its expansion plans following a £1 million investment earlier this year.
The UK company received funding from Frontier Development Capital to support international expansion and recruitment.
Since opening in 2007, Igloo has delivered more than 500 events and installations in 22 countries and now employs 50 people across offices in Shropshire, London, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and Melbourne.
