The story

UK-based Immerse has integrated its VR training platform with human capital management software provider SAP SuccessFactors.

Users of SAP SuccessFactors products and services, which include new clients Bros Fahrzeugteile SE & Co, Chalhoub Group and Klosterfrau Healthcare Group, can transition from SAP SuccessFactors learning into a VR training session. Key training data is then passed back to SAP SuccessFactors once the VR training session is complete.

The integration is possible due to Immerse’s open application programming interface functionality, which allows its platform to be plugged into an enterprise’s existing learning management system.

Through this integration, VR training can be handled in the same way as other learning content. Training can be assigned as mandatory or recommended for a job role via the learning management system. The data captured from VR training can then be used to show competence or compliance.

The integration with SAP SuccessFactors is thanks to Immerse’s participation in the SAP PartnerEdge programme, which provides tools, benefits and support to facilitate building high-quality, disruptive applications focused on specific business needs.

The programme provides access to all relevant SAP technologies in one simple framework under a single, global contract.

Immerse chief executive officer and co-founder Tom Symonds, who explained last year how VR training can transform the workplace and improve a workforce, said: “VR is fast becoming an essential tool for businesses that are serious about employee learning and development. Our new integration with SAP SuccessFactors provides a scalable way of introducing the next generation of learning technology, giving businesses the opportunity to run training in ways that weren’t previously possible.”

He continued: “Across every sector and line of business, this technology has the potential to change the way we train and the way we work. Partnering with SAP SuccessFactors is a significant development, making it even easier for businesses to start reaping the rewards of VR training.”

The SAP SuccessFactors integration follows Immerse’s strategic partnership with CJ OliveNetworks, part of the CJ Group, to actively pursue enterprise VR training platform opportunities in the South Korean market.

CJ OliveNetworks plans to develop bespoke VR training content catering to the various needs of the South Korean market, including manufacturing, logistics, retail, assembly, and health and safety. The IT company will use Immerse’s platform to provide scalable and measurable training environments.
