The story

Magic Leap has teamed up with Spatial to launch a new collaboration package, as businesses around the world deal with the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and their employees work remotely.

Available on a 45-day trial for $5,000 in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, the collaboration package comes with four Magic Leap 1 headsets and users licences for the Spatial collaboration app.

Remote service set-up and installation for the Spatial app is included. Once the trial is completed, businesses can purchase a one-year licence to use the Spatial app and three devices, with the fourth thrown in for free.

The Magic Leap 1, which was repositioned for enterprise use last year, enables workers to collaborate remotely, hold remote presentations, participate in multi-site work reviews and collaboration sessions.

The Spatial app offers photorealistic 3D avatars made from a single photo and allows users to upload information and share screens for presentations.

It is also hardware-agnostic and runs across different spatial computing devices, AR and VR headsets, computers and phones.

Spatial was one of the third-party developers to join up with Magic Leap when it began targeting enterprise with its MR platform.

Other partners include Arvizio, Eon Reality, Immersion Analytics, Immersiv, Nomtek, Minsar, Obsess, PTC, RoOomy, Spatiate, Taqtile, Verses and VIM.

Virtual staging, CGI and 3D modelling platform roOomy partnered with Toll Brothers Apartment Living to create a custom app for the spatial computing device in December 2019.
