The XRSpace Manova virtual reality headset will be available in Europe before Christmas. What can we expect from this new device?

The Manova mobile virtual reality headset from Chinese startup XRSpace is getting a limited exclusive trial in Germany through Deutsche Telekom, while a WiFi-only version will soon be available for purchase across Europe.
The WiFi-only 64GB XRSpace Manova headset is available on xrspace.io now and comes in two editions.
The consumer version costs €499, while the business headset is available for €599.
XRSpace told VRWorldTech the more expensive business edition comes with an extended warranty and owners will be able access the startup’s support team in Taiwan.
Four hundred Deutsche Telekom customers will get their hands on a 5G- and 4G-enabled Manova from 14 December, so they can test and analyse the headset alongside the XRSpace social and communication platform, which is billed as a Facebook Horizon-like social virtual reality space.
Manova launched in partnership with Chungwa Telecom in Taiwan in July and a rollout programme through search engine Baidu and China Telecom is ongoing in China.
Nikitas Glykas, Europe, Middle East and Africa vice president at XRSpace, says: “We are thrilled that after three years of breakthrough development, XRSpace Manova will be available through our website in Germany and for the rest of EU countries before Christmas.”
Manova represents somewhat of a reset of virtual reality headsets. It does away with controllers and requires wearers to use hand motions and gestures to navigate through and interact with the XRSpace social platform.
The social virtual platform itself does not offer “solitary apps” but provides “many public and private spaces” where users can “socialise, work and play together”, according to founder and former HTC chief executive officer Peter Chou.
As a result, XRSpace is collaborating with a series of content partners to build out its ecosystem. They are working to craft unique experiences that cover entertainment, education, gaming, ecommerce and more. Partners include ScienceVR, MagicLOHAS, AirPano, Angry Birds, GoPro, Insta360 and Magic Horizons.
