The story

Immersive technology peripherals specialist Manus is offering enterprise PC virtual reality users a solution for effective motion capture, virtual production and full-body experiences with the launch of its first professional SteamVR tracker.

Available for pre-order today, the Manus Pro Tracker features the most sensors in any SteamVR tracker on the market, according to its developer.

Those sensors are also top of the line, meaning they capture more reliable SteamVR data, making this offering from Manus among the most accurate available.

The new tracker is fitted with an interchangeable rechargeable battery that manages 4½ hours on its own, keeping its users productive with reduced down-time. USB-C is preferred for easy charging and wired use.

Manus is particularly proud of the design and build. The new tracker weighs 62 g, making it 44% lighter than its competitors, and an integrated universal mounting adapter enables easy attachment on the new Prime II motion capture and virtual reality gloves, which were released in 2020.

An optional professional strap-set provides stability while using the tracker in combination with Polygon, Manus’s full-body inverse-kinematics solution, also released in 2020.

‘Amazed by the accuracy and ease-of-use’

“After years of using SteamVR tracking, we are excited to launch our own SteamVR- enabled product,” comments Bart Loosman, chief executive officer at Manus.

“We have been amazed by the accuracy and ease-of-use of this tracking solution for a long time. As one of the very first companies in the world to get access to the SteamVR technology, we hope to improve the workflow of creative professionals around the world with our very own professional tracker.”

The Manus Pro Tracker is available for pre-order, starting at €299.

Interested enterprise customers should bear in mind that the new tracker is designed for use with several Manus peripherals and full-body solutions, so a discussion with the company on your exact needs and requirements is recommended so that a competitive quote can be put forward.

Tracking is an essential part of using virtual reality and other immersive technologies, with accuracy paramount for a range of use cases, including training.
