Immersed rolls out smartphone streaming in virtual reality

Immersed, the provider of a virtual reality productivity and collaboration solution, is rolling out a feature that will enable professional users to view their smartphones while wearing their headsets.

Available now on iOS and soon on Android, the Immersed Phone in VR beta streams a smartphone or tablet screen into virtual reality, so users can view their device while they are working.

According to the Immersed Phone in VR launch trailer below, users can snap their smartphone or tablet screen to the grid of up to five virtual monitors available within the Immersed virtual reality app.

As it’s a stream, input requires touch typing on the device itself or some combination of Bluetooth accessories.

Immersed is on course to raise more than $4 million in a WeFunder campaign that will give the company a pre-money valuation of $60 million.

Glartek releases free enterprise-grade AR remote assistance product

Glartek, a company building augmented reality solutions for field-services and the asset-intensive and manufacturing industries, has released GlarAssist.

GlarAssist is the first-ever free enterprise-grade augmented reality remote assistance product, according to its developer.

The product enables hands-free recordable video calling with augmented reality annotations, chat, freeze mode, sessions’ analytics, and much more. It helps experts provide real-time instructions to workers, or customers, to speed up and guarantee efficient problem resolutions, reducing travel costs and increasing the overall quality of service.

The product is available online and is compatible with PCs, smartphones, tablets, Microsoft HoloLens 2, and leading smart glasses. GlarAssist is free-of-charge for personal usage and limited commercial usage.

Bruno Duarte, chief executive officer of Glartek, says: “Companies need to remotely connect employees to reduce travel costs and to improve collaboration. Current tools fail to address challenging scenarios, for example in industrial maintenance and field inspections.”

“GlarAssist is a truly enterprise-grade augmented reality remote assistance solution, provided free-of-charge for commercial usage. Product features such as remote assistance sessions with multiple participants or supporting participants with AR glasses are truly valuable to address complex field problems.”

Modest Tree launches next-generation Xplorer for XR content creation

Modest Tree, a global software developer of advanced immersive training apps and enterprise-wide digitalisation solutions, has launched Xplorer 2.0.

Xplorer 2.0 allows users to employ a drag-and-drop interface to quickly transform their own content into advanced XR content for training, marketing, familiarisation, sales, and more, which can be simultaneously experienced in virtual and augmented reality, on personal computers, and on mobile devices.

Sam Sannandeji, chief executive officer of Modest Tree, says: “We wanted to open up the world of XR to those who aren’t virtual reality experts so we could support organisations who needed a rapid and accessible means to develop, adapt, and scale their own AR, VR, and XR content.”

“Xplorer 2.0 makes it even easier for organisations to develop reusable, editable training and marketing content that cuts down on project time and budget, placing them in a better position to succeed in today’s competitive environment.”

Xplorer 2.0 is the latest update of Modest Tree’s XR Presentation software, which is already contributing benefits to numerous global enterprise clients across manufacturing, defence, automotive, and healthcare industries by enabling them to accelerate their training operations and increase the efficacy of their sales and marketing engagement.

Modest Tree Xplorer can be found in app stores.
