NuEyes, the specialist in low-vision technology based in California, USA, is releasing a dedicated version of its new Pro 3 augmented reality smart glasses for gaming and entertainment.
Pro 3e will be priced at $699. NuEyes recently struck a partnership with Samsung Electronics to allow the Pro 3 range and Pro 3e to pair with a number of the technology company’s smart devices.
The Pro 3 range, first announced in December 2020, will meet enterprise demand for augmented reality smart glasses that can facilitate training and learning, guided workflows, remote assistance, knowledge transfer, visualisation, and maintenance, repair and operations.
Pro 3e is aimed at mobile entertainment and gaming, as well as light enterprise use.
The Pro 3 range and Pro 3e are tethered smart glasses that boast 4K displays, a 52 deg FOV (field of view) and weigh just 88 g.
One version of the Pro 3 line is tethered to a proprietary controller with dual 6DoF (six degrees of freedom) cameras and a forward-facing 20 MP RGB camera.
Its software includes SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping), object, speech, and gesture recognition, and plane detection.
Pro 3-C boasts a 5MP RGB camera with a USB type C plug that connects to any smart device that renders video via a display port.
A third version of Pro 3 is geared toward thermal imaging for enterprise needs.
NuEyes plans to launch Pro 3e this week. The rest of the range is available to buy through the company’s dedicated enterprise website.
